"Got my boots tied tight, hope I don't get in a fight"- Adam Sandler in Billy Madison
I only have a couple classes left until I receive my BFA. I'm glad I'm close, but I'll feel much better when it's done. It's hard to work full time and then commit the time to do well in my classes. Plus now I have another variable, I'm married. No wait, I'm married, with a house to maintain, animal "kids" to nurture, and a husband to continue building a relationship with. I did not fully understand that after you're married you have to work to strengthen the relationship. It makes sense. I guess I lived in a fantasy world and pictured everything to be perfect, happy, smiling, lovey dovey, etc. I think that I believed, "Hey, we're married, that's the ultimate commitment, we're so in love that we'll always stay that way and never disagree, fight, or bicker". Well I have that all figured out now so it's always in my mind as something to work towards and improve upon.
The class I am taking this semester is an Independent Study. I know, it sounds easy. In reality it's not. It's not time to mess around. I meet once a week with the other students and my teacher and we discuss the projects we're working on. We all brought our portfolios today to see where everyone was at and what kind of goals they wanted to accomplish. I have to bring my goals to class next week. I don't know exactly where I want to specify. I have a bunch of ideas. I desperately want to accomplish them at high level of quality. I will narrow them down and hopefully post them in a couple days. Anyone have ideas for unique and creative projects for a graphic design student? I love to hear what other designers have to say.
